- http://www.sokr.ru/ is a dictionary of abbreviations and acronyms, including current internet slang and lingo
- Russian Grammatical Dictionary developed by people from Duke University and St. Petersburg State University (Russia)
The dictionary currently contains about 13,000 lexical items, with plans to expand it to 100,000 items
Words are given in full paradigms, with sound files accompanying each form (click on the word to hear the pronunciation). English translation is given. Links to related words are also provided.
The access is free, however you would need to register to use it (and be sure to save your login/password for future use)

- conradish.net - This site contains unabridged, unadapted works of notable Russian/Soviet writers from the Nineteenth and Twentith Century. The text is in Russian, with special reading aids for learners of that language. When you encounter a word that you don't know, poisition your mouse pointer over it to see its English equivalent. For a more detailed description, click on the word. (The site works better in Internet Explorer; the dictionary support does not work in Mozilla)
Free Software that can be used for Educational Purposes
- WavePad - Audio Editing Software for Windows: it allows you to record and edit voice files in a variety of formats (the most useful for us will be .mp3)
