Create a Test

  1. Click on the Tests and Quizzes link in the left hand menu within the appropriate worksite.
  2. In the Create from Scratch box, enter a title into the Assessment Title field and click the Create button. We do not recommend selecting any assessment types from the option drop down menu.
  3. Begin creating a question by selecting the type of question you want (Multiple Choice, Fill in the blank, etc.) from the drop down menu located next to the Insert New Question text.
  4. Fill in the required fields for that question type and click Save at the bottom when complete.

Grade a Test

For many assessment types, grading is automatically done based on values and answers given to the Tests and Quizzes tool when the assessment was created. For assessments that require individual grading, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Tests and Quizzes link in the left hand menu within the appropriate worksite.
  2. Click on the Published Assessments tab within the tool.
  3. Next to the name of the assessment you wish to grade, select Scores from the drop down menu.
  4. Click on the name of a student you wish to grade.
  5. Scroll down to each question and enter grades as needed. Scroll to the bottom of the assessment and click Update.

Create an Assignment

  1. Click on the Assignments or Assignments 2 link in the left hand menu within the appropriate worksite.
  2. Click on the Add action button under the title.
  3. Fill in the required information and choose the appropriate settings.
  4. When you are done, click Post at the bottom of the page for Assignments and click Save at the bottom of the page for Assignments 2.

Release Assignment Grades to Students

  1. Click on the Assignments or Assignments 2 link in the left hand menu within the appropriate worksite.
  2. Click on the View Submissions or Grade link under the assignment for which you want to release grades.
  3. Click on the Release Grades link above the list on the right-hand side within Assignments or the Release Grades action button below the title within Assignments 2.

This will release all graded scores to the students. Ungraded items are not released.

Release Test Grades to Students

  1. Click on the Tests and Quizzes link in the left hand menu within the appropriate worksite.
  2. Scroll down to the Published Assessments section. Next to the name of the assessment you wish to grade, select Settings from the drop down menu.
  3. Scroll down and click Feedback to expand the options.
  4. Select how to release the feedback (including the score) by selecting Immediate Feedback, Feedback on submission, or Feedback will be displayed to the student at a specific date. This last option also requires you to select a date.
  5. Select what information to release to students. The Student's Assessment Scores option is required to release scores.
  6. Scroll down and click the Save Settings button at the bottom of the page.

Release Gradebook Grades to Students

  1. Click on the Gradebook link in the left hand menu within the appropriate worksite.
  2. Click the Edit link next to the Gradebook item for which you want to release scores.
  3. Click the Release this item to Students check box, and then click Save Changes.

Release Gradebook 2 Grades to Students

  1. Click on the Gradebook 2 link in the left hand menu within the appropriate worksite.
  2. Double-Click on the name of the item for which you wish to release grades.
  3. Select the checkbox for the Release scores option.
  4. Click Save/Close when finished.
