Thanks for all of your hard work on behalf of ALL Christians. I 
have worked in the Episcopal Church for almost thirteen years 
and have been aware of your ministry for a long time.I MIGHT be 
the only openly gay youth minister in parish youth ministry in 
the Episcopal Church. I know of many closeted ones, but have not 
run across any others who were able to be open about their 
sexuality. In any event, thanks you once again for your advocacy

Louie--I too grew up suthun' Baptist and Gay.  I had a really 
rough time growing up, and almost became another Baptist Gay 
suicide statistic when I was 16.  I am better now, but only 
after therapy, recovery and the help of good Episcopal priests 
like Fr. Carroll Barbour of St. Thomas in Hollywood and Fr. Jim 
Newman of St. Bede's in West Los Angeles.  Thank you for your 
poetry, your faith and your inspiration.  God has truly blessed

Thank you a thousand times for providing such an interesting, worthwhile and informative website.  My former colleague in the Dio. of W. Michigan, Cynthia Black, first told me about you and your site and since moving to Portland (1/1/99) I've not had time until recently to "surf" once again.  Now, my nearest clerical neighbor is a former Newarkian, Larry Falkowski!

Jack and Christine Spong were here last week for our diocesan clergy conference and were terrific.  I think Jack "converted" a few of the naysayers and of course hawked and sold lots of his books!

I'm particularly interested in your site's having full texts of things which are useful to use "closet liberals" (I have to watch what I say in my own parish, a very conservative, Rite One outfit!).  So, keep up all the good work for the Good of the Order!

Your website is terrific for poets and I will have a cool 
website link to your sites when my website is up in late 
December 1999.  I am a poet and editor of the quarterly 
photocopied poetry/cartoon zine Lucid Moon in Hunterdon County, 
Hampton, New Jersey.  I received a BFA in Graphic Design From 
Mason Gross School Of The Arts (Rutgers, New Brunswick)in 1990.  
I started writing poetry in 1989 to deal with the death of my 
friend Mark Waser in high school in 1981.  I closed up 
emotionally and did not open up again until 1994 when my beloved 
grandfather died.  I write poems about both of them and my 
favorite actor River Phoenix, who died in 1993, in my first 
poetry collection Wounded Heart, Naked Soul, which comes out in 
December 1999 hopefully. The book is also geared towards 
depressed or suicidal and gay/bisexual young people, and it can 
help those dealing with the loss of a loved one. I will keep in 
touch with you and send you a copy of my book and magazine (Fall 
1999/Halloween issue will be a week late!)  Will also let you 
know when my website is finished and posted.  Keep up the great 
work with your web sites and endeavors and college work!

I have been working to organize the first interfaith holy day. 
It is called the World Sabbath of Religious Reconciliation. We 
are organizing an annual day to pray for the victims of 
religious persecution.... and those who have been persecuted by 
religious groups.  We are calling on religious leaders of all 
faiths to work togther to oppose religious war.  Our first 
celebration will take place on Jan 22, 2000,  at Christ Church 
Cranbrook, here in Bloomfield Hills. Please check out our web

PS     I have been hired as interim rector of Trinity Church in 
Farmington Hills,  MI.  I came out to the wardens and the 
vestry, so there would be no accusations of not being honest. 
One family has quit, but i am going after them to convince them

a good job for me.

   I have a new man in my life. He is a life-long Episcopalian,  
60 yrs old, and a dashing figure.  He and I have been very

Please comment:

I agree entirely with my old friend Warner Traynham, from that 
big diocese south of here.  At the same time, I have empathy for 
the PB, also a friend for many years.  However, we must remember 
that his power and influence are limited; even if he personally 
changed his mindset, it wouldn't necessarily change the 
outcome.  If those in the Junior House who don't want to vote on 
sexuality issues can get the votes, we won't pass any such 
legislation.  I believe that it would be salutary for the HD to 
act on any such issue they can get to our floor, for us to see 
the mind of the Senior House on the blessing of same-sex unions.
