Thank you so much for doing something about Clergy Comp stats.  We gets so many calls here at CDO and no one has definitive info on Clergy stipends, etc.  I find that unconscionable!  People are always asking: "What is the average stipend for a priest w/such and such experience in this size parish?"  Of course, the answers aren't easy, given the geographic and diocesan differences, but we ought to be able to make some comparisons.  Keep up the good work!  Pam

Richard Doxtator was my highschool English teacher in Emporia, 
Kansas back in the early '60s. A very good teacher. I went on to 
be a gay poet and published two books by Gay Sunshine Press in 
SF, Chicken (1979) and Size Queen (1981). I've been included in 
some anthologies like The Penguin Book of Homosexual Verse. I 
still write poetry but not so homoerotic anymore. Thankfully my 
male hormones don't bug me as much as they used to. Lately, I've 
been desktop publishing small chapbook editions of my prose-poems 
with a laserjet printer. Also, like the web for quick publishing 
in ezines. Somewhat flummoxed, tho, lately asking self about 
whether am I too gay, postgay? Deconstructing Denise...

read the words of the Word Incarnate , read them slowly and

Christ`s assessment of the church leaders of his day..nothing has

Keep up the good work!  I was at the Beyond Inclusion Conf. in 
NYC and I have hope that we will prevail on the issues that

I have turned my nose up at religion for many years.  I was raised Southern Baptist and the more I began to accept and express my homosexuality, the more my parents took me to church, and the more I began to reject and resent the church. Please tell me how through scripture you can explain that homosexual activity is right and godly.  Yes, I do have conservative views but I am not a closed minded buffoon.  I believe that scripture and the interpretation of scripture through context to be the primary basis of christianity.  Yes, tradition and reason are legs of the stool but they are not equal by any means.  If they are then christianity would be nothing more than a religion based on reason or a religion based on tradition.  So, please, tell me how to justify the homosexual lifestyle from a scriptural stand point.
