Louis, thank you for your email some time back. It's very good to 
make personal contact. In a recent letter from Jack Spong he sang 
your praises and said you would keep me informed of church news 
in the USA.

That you are the founder of Integrity is special to know. Out 
here in NZ we have AFLAG -which I helped to establish. (Anglicans 
for Lesbian and Gay Concerns) There are other quite well 
supported gay/lesbian church groups here - and I imagine most 
would know of/contribute from time to time to the Integrity 
newsletter.

Last year we had Jack Spong visit here for the third time - 
this last time on a special lectureship. This year Robert Funk 
comes. I think many would like to have Jack here again!

Best wishes for all your endeavours. I shall now go read your 
pages (and find out a bit more about you!)

Was good to hear your voice. Thank you so much for giving me the

Just got a letter that our beloved Integrity New York chapter is 
being decertified.  Whats going on.  Sandy seemed to do such a 
wonderful job for the Integrity convention when it was held in 
New York a couple of years ago.  What will happen to the gay 
pride March this June without an Integrity New York?  Does the 
chapter still meet and worship together?  Dear dear, the New York 
 chapter as I remember it was also a substantial financial piece 
of the national budget.  Would appreciate any thoughts you might

Dr. Crew,

I just thought I'd drop a note and say hello. I was on the Luti 
list a few years back as a straight-but-not-narrow supporter of 
LGBT rights. Although I now identify myself as a Unitarian 
Universalist, my committment to that cause has not wavered, much 
to my (Baptist) parents' dismay.

I'm writing for two reasons, besides voicing my respect of the 
things you've accomplished through Integrity. One is to let you 
know that a friend of mine who has just been accepted into 
graduate studies in biology might come by your office some time 
next fall to say hello; her name is Makiri Sei, and I told her 
you were the one interesting (indeed, the only person at all!) 
person I knew of in Newark.

The second is more somber. I was wondering if you knew, or could 
find out from someone on Luti, whether Bob Tosh of Boston, who 
was at one time a Luti usher, is still with us or is now in 
spirit. Bob's lived with HIV and AIDS for a really long time, and 
I take the disappearance of his web site and mail address to be a 
sign his struggle has ended, but I'd like to know. He is/was like 
a brother to me, and like a brother I let our contact fall 
behind, sadly...

If you can find this out, I'd be most appreciative.

I am the daughter of a fundamentalist preacher and a member of 
the "church alumni association".  A friend who will soon be 
entering the Seabury Seminary gave me "Rescuing the Bible from 
Fundamentalism", which may be the catalyst that brings me back 
to the church and Christ. I could not believe in a literal Bible 
nor condemn my friends of other religions and sexual orientation 
and remain a Christian.
