IN the old days, I was a Seminary Assistant at Grace Church, Newark - the days of Fr Brown. And my former roomate at GTS, George Bowen, was the later rector...he is also a very delinquent Godfather to one of my daughters.

Louie, thanks for all the data you provide for us in the provinces.

Cheers - Ralph E Fogg

Hello my dear Louie,
I do hope you have fully rested and recovered from the strenuous pace of GC. It was inspiring to catch an occassional glimpse of you. I figured if you were managing the intense pace of all that was happening, then I could do likewise. Thank you for being such a marvelous role model.
Barbara Hunt suggested I contact you about making a connection with Catacombs. Please advise as to what I would need to do to join and to participate. By the way, she was the most wonderful witness ally for the lesbigay community at the Integrity Booth. I greatly enjoyed having the opportunity of getting to know her while working at the Booth. I hope she will be able to join us in Colordo. I know I am determined to go again, God willing. I will attempt to garner one of those red lines for my badge, after two conventions as an alternate!

What a great resource, what a great
statement. We met at VTS when I
invited Bp Spong down to speak.

I was Jack's rabble rouser at VTS
for 3 years (89-92) and look what
happened! The place is becoming
a 21 century seminary.

Have you ever thought of founding
a Spong Society? I'd like your
thoughts. Perhaps after he retires?

[While I doubt that it qualifies at 'A Spong Society', you
you should nevertheless visit CTM (Christianity for
the Third Millenium) at http://www.intac.com/~rollins/ctm.html. I am
honored to serve on the board.]

Hi, Louie!

I read a review of Noll's opus in Episcopal Life. I'm very grateful to you for posting the Rev'd Eleanor's comments, as well as to the Rev'd Eleanor for writing them. I suspected from the review that Noll's argument was nothing more than a variation on the so-called 'natural law' theory, but I'm unwilling to buy a copy and give Noll a royalty. Ted

The quote about "fear" at the top of your Episcopal Church web
site is not from Mandela's 1994 inaugeral speech (although this
misinformation has spread widely throughout the Internet).
Rather, it is a poem by a "new age" author Marianne
Williamson in her book "Return to Love."

The full text of Mandela's
speech can be found at www.nonviolence.org/friends/mandela.htm

Was present at St. Stephen's, Pittsfield, Sunday, 17 August '97, and at the afternoon session in "The Parlors." Was delighted to meet you in person and LOVED your sermon. Thank you for lighting the fire of the group - it was needed.
Have a fovor to ask: my Father will turn 92 Aug. 29th. He "came out" about 17 years ago (he was an English teach at Mount Hermon School/ Northfield/Mount Hermon retiring about 20 yrs ago), and has been a great follower of you through Integrity. He would love to receive a birthday card from you, if that would be possible. His address is: PO Box 247, Greenfield, MA 01203. When I told him Stanley and I had spent the afternoon with you, he was delighted and cannot wait to read your sermon. [now available at http://newark.rutgers.edu/~lcrew/fabulous.html --Luti/Louie]

Thank you for being you and sharing with all of us!

Joan Morrow Woolley/ Stoan1

PS Louis, I forgot to give you the name of my 92 year old father! WILLIAM
H. MORROW, PO Box 247, Greenfield, MA 01203

Thank you so much, and pardon my Monday Morning "Off!"

I am trying to locate information on a Diocese of the Midwest.
Do you have any information on such?

------------------------------------------------------

LC responds:

The Episcopal Church has no such diocese. Perhaps it is an entity of some
of the groups that have broken off from us? It is not referenced in any
official Episcopal Church directories. Good luck in finding it elsewhere.
You might begin by searching for it as a phrase "Diocese of the Midwest"
with one of the search engines at

        http://newark.rutgers.edu:80/~lcrew/search.html

Thanks for your visit and for signing my guest boo.

Joy!

Your sermon in Pittsfield, MA

Please comment:

I didn't mean to transmit before I added this note. I am one of those conservative Biblical literalists and I visit your site often. I visit not because I wish you harm, nor because I want to see what Satan is up to but because I love you and respect all the work you do on your site. You challenge me to reflect on issues I might choose to avoid. You bring me to remembrance of the years I spent at Smith College in my youth.
In fact, my only issue with the gay community is that I believe in chastity for all, even for those in the heterosexual community. And I come to this because the Biblical injunctions have been proven and supported in my own life. My sexual sins have caused great harm in my life, to me, to a marriage, to my daughter, and to my grandchildren.
But I love and enjoy you, Louie. I hope to continue to visit you on the web and to someday meet you in person.
Your sister in Christ, Caro

hi--

have been on your list for a while, so thought i'd check out
your site. very interested to see that you went to baylor--i've
just come here to teach in the english dept (i'm doing
linguistics, which is almost as foreign to baylor as out
bisexuals). if you've any words of wisdom on surviving baylor,
i'd love to hear them.

best,
lynne murphy

Louie,

You've done a remarkable job on your website and in coordinating
the lesbigay e-mail directory and websites.

We met some years ago in Urbana, IL during your visit to the
University of Illinois. I remember fondly to this day your
comments regarding the "Instant Moody Bible-toot"!

I hope you'll keep doing your tremendously important work for
for many years to come.

Best wishes,

Ian

Luti-
I have so much more to learn about web sites and home pages. The present home page for The Oasis, is, I understand, unsatisfactory in terms of ease of access for many people. So, it's my intention to attend the "Hhome Page Creation for Congregations Workshop" September 20th. I've also just hired a new Office Administrator (Part Time) who, besides being a PhD candidate at Drew in Liturgics, is also a computer wiz (and, 'bilingual' at that - IBM and Mac, that is). So, watch out, Ms Demi-god of Cyberspace! You'll have to make room for "the great omnipitent pooh-bah of cyberspace". Thanks for printing this absolutely FABULOUS sermon. I LOVED it - as always.

Please visit HTTP://ANGELFIRE.COM/NY/AMEN for a humble, stark
