I have 1,321 publications*, about half of them poetry, many of them in
important venues.  I suppose I have averaged about $250 a year on my 
writing, and far less than that on my poetry.

I suggest that you seek some other outlet for your talent if you want to
make money out of it.   If you want to share your imagination with
discriminating readers, keep writing.

I have some poetry to publish. Where do I go? Who do I send it 
to? E-mail me please! I need HELP!

No one could give you good advice without knowing what kind of poetry you
are writing.  You should join (or start) a local poetry group that meets
at least once every 6 weeks for members to read their own poetry written
only since the last meeting.  Try to have a diverse group, not people
all trying to write the same way.  Critique one another's work.

You should also spend lots of time reading other poets in current
magazines.  Were you doing enough of that right now, you would already have
a sense of your own voice and of the magazines that are publishing material
of the kind that you write.  Magazines have a character which their readers
expect.  While a good editor is open to new voices, rarely would a new
voice radically reverse the editor's and the readers' expectations.

Once you have done these two things, then use resources such as those that
I collect at http://newark.rutgers.edu/~lcrew/poetry.html to help you in
discerning where to send your work.

Just beginning to explore the potential of the internet.  Used it 
to try to find a church on my recent initial visit to Arizona.

Was amazed at the numbers of churches in the Tuscon area carrying 
some name that indicated more than individuality,  more likely 
divisive stances.  It is affirming to read your sermon on the

What a great resource!  I am using many of these materials in a 
course in The School of Christian Studies of the Diocese of 
Central Pennsylvania.  It is an introductory course on moral 
reasoning that uses a contemporary issue or event as the test 
case.  Students explore the issues/events and then analyze the 
sorts of moral reasoning they have employed in thinking/talking 
about them.  This site saved me weeks of prep time.  From one

I have been writting poetry for 9 years and have more than 
enough for several chapbooks. I am trying to connect with a 
publisher who would take a look at the work of an unknown.

Everyone tells me including some very harsh critics that it
should be out there I just don't know how to get started and 
thought that the internet might be a viable avenue.

However, the list doesn't really indicate what they might be 
looking for.

News reports, such as ordination of bishops in Singapore

I am an Episcopal layman in Pittsburgh, much concerned about the 
conservatism of our diocese and our bishop, as witnessed by his 
involvement with the rogue ordinations in Singapore. I have read 
most of Bishop Spong's books. I attended the first day's 
sessions of the Diocesan convention on January 28 and heard both 
Bishop Spong's conferral of his bishop's cross upon you and your 
testimony to him at the banquet. I found the whole session 
inspiring. What I saw puts the lie to the critics of Spong, who 
claim he has wrecked the diocese. I hope some of the proceedings 
will be published by you or the diocese on your respective web 
pages. I also met people with Christianity for the Third 
Millennium and anticipate working from a distance with that 
group, which I see you are affiliated with. I wish I lived in 
your diocese, but since I don't, I'll have to work to bring some 
of your spirit here. Your web page is a great aid. Thanks for 
doing it.
