I am an assistant professor at Rutgers University, the State University of New Jersey.
My research interests include:
- Influence of phonetics on phonology
- Speech-perception and its relation to phonology
- Intonation
- Emergent linguistic patterns
- A corpus/experiment-based approach to Japanese rap rhymes and imperfect puns
- Experimental approaches to sound symbolism
- Morphology-phonology interface
- A bit of semantics

- The intonation of Japanese nominal parentheticals
- Duration of geminate stops and fricatives in Arabic, Hindi, Japanese and Norwegian
- The interaction of linguistic knowledge and speech perception (and the lack thereof) (w/ John Kingston)
- The intonation of deaccented adjectives in Japanese and its semantics (w/ Yurie Hara)
