Research Interests:
Food web dynamics and predator-prey relationships among vertebrates on barrier islands.
I graduated from Auburn University with a BS in Biomedical Sciences in 2004. I then went to the University of South Alabama and received a BS in Biological Sciences (Geography minor) in 2006 and a MS in Marine Sciences in 2009 working from the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. My previous research has included monitoring populations of colonial nesting birds on many islands along the coast of Alabama following hurricane Katrina and comparing the bird diversity of the five rivers that feed Mobile Bay. My thesis research was centered on Brown Pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis) nesting ecology on Gaillard Island, a man made island in Mobile Bay.
