SMART Scholarship Program

SMART Scholarship Program

SMART is an opportunity for students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in STEM disciplines to receive a full scholarship and be employed upon degree completion at a Department of Defense (DoD) Research Facility.

Participants in the SMART Scholarship for Service Program receive:

Cash award ranging from $22,000 - $41,000
Full tuition and related educational fees
Health Insurance
Book allowance of $1,000 per academic year
Paid summer internships
Employment placement after graduation

In return for these benefits, SMART Scholars commit to one year of civilian employment with the DoD for each academic year that they are supported.
