Kira Dacanay ('06)
interned at the Mote Marine Lab after graduating.
She became a NJ Watershed Amabassador (see above) and then was hired by the NJ DEP to review coastal land-use permit
applications. Now, she is studying bivalve aquaculture policy at URI. Her work could influence the permitting process in that growing industry. There is more: Kira is spending 4 months in the Philippines to collect data to evaluate the community benefits of population, health, and environment interventions in place there.
