  • Rank Order

If my sources (always deputies or bishops), know the rank order, I show it. C1 equals the clergyperson with the most votes on the earliest of electing ballots, C2 the clergyperson with the next most votes, etc. If my sources do not know the rank order, I use alphabetical order.

Alabama, Eastern Michigan, Eastern Oregon, Western Louisiana and Wyoming do not rank their deputies.

'5' indicates alternates unless a diocese elects fewer than the maximum of 4 deputies in each order, Ecuador, e.g. In every case an alternate is identified as such.

  • *Unlike the others indexed above, the Navajoland is not a diocese, but a missionary district; and the Churches in Europe do not constitute a diocese, but rather, a convocation of American Church in Europe, under the jurisdiction of the Presiding Bishop, served on the scene by a Bishop Suffragan in Charge. The "Diocese in Europe" is a different entity altogether, viz., the presence of the Church of England in Europe.

  • New means only that the person did not serve in the 1,2, 3, 4, or 5 slot in that diocese in 2003, 2000, or 1997 and has not yet been spotted in another diocesan deputation. Please notify me of any mistakes.
